Suddenly Mia disappears without a trace. Ella is faced with the nightmare, the fear of losing a loved one and never knowing why or what happened.  And suddenly, enter Space Pirates! 

Ella is swept into an enchanted dimension of silhouettes, shadow theatre, three dimensional puppets, sculptural costumes that explore the line between puppetry and wearable art, dance, and lo-fi space pop, hip hop, folk opera. The characters wander in and out of paper-cut worlds, from color to black and white, from textures to flat magic. 

Building on an aesthetic MRS productions have been exploring over the years, “Mia M.I.A.” will embrace the interplay between actor and shadow puppet, dancer and multi-person wearable puppet, puppets that can perform as both a shadow puppet and a “seen” puppet and more.
